Decision Support System for On/Off-Board Ship Operative Management

The project targets the ship automation market, with the aim to study and test several technological innovations able to improve the energetic efficiency of the navigation, acting in parallel on different aspects. We studied advanced techniques for ship balance control, power consumption forecasting, predictive maintenance, power optimization and speed/routing optimization with respect to marine and meteo conditions.
Inside the project, On AIR is involved in the following tasks:

  • new optimum trim and optimum ballast strategies
  • data mining for power consumption forecasting in different conditions
  • automatic detection of suspected behaviour in some ship devices by unsupervided learning
  • optimal speed profile and weather routing algorithms
